Who we are / Our story

25 years of industrial trade from the crossroads of the world

Founded in Istanbul in 2001, Global Trading Ltd. was built on a single conviction: buyers in the world's most demanding industries deserve a direct, reliable supply partner positioned at the source — not one more link in an already long chain.

How it started

A business built on geography and conviction

Global Trading Ltd. was founded in 2001 by Mesut Hamza, an industrial trade professional who had spent years watching buyers in the Middle East, Central Asia, and North Africa pay unnecessary premiums for materials and equipment that could be sourced far more efficiently — if the supplier was positioned in the right place. Istanbul was that place. Sitting at the geographic intersection of Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia, and Africa, the city is not merely a logistics hub. It is the shortest straight line between the world's largest industrial producers and the world's fastest-growing industrial markets.
The business began in industrial equipment supply — specifically oil and gas process measurement and control systems, valves, and instrumentation for upstream and downstream operations. The founding logic was straightforward: Turkish-based sourcing delivers the same European and Asian-manufactured equipment to buyers in Iraq, UAE, Egypt, and Kazakhstan with shorter lead times and lower intermediate costs than suppliers based in Frankfurt, Rotterdam, or Singapore. That advantage has never changed. It has only grown more relevant as procurement departments face increasing pressure to reduce supply chain costs without compromising specification quality.
Over the following two decades, the business expanded its product portfolio deliberately — each new vertical added because it served the same core buyer profile and could be sourced with the same geographic advantage from Istanbul. Boron products came through establishing a direct supply relationship with Eti Maden, the Turkish state enterprise that operates the world's largest boron mining and refining operations. Polymers, industrial chemicals, solar energy systems, NDT inspection equipment, and security screening systems followed — each representing a category where Turkish-origin supply creates a demonstrable and quantifiable advantage for international buyers.

A history of expansion

Milestones that shaped the business

2001 — Founded

Global Trading Ltd. established in Istanbul, Türkiye

The company is founded with a focus on industrial equipment sourcing and export — connecting European and Asian manufacturers with procurement teams across the Middle East and Central Asia. Istanbul's geography becomes the company's core and enduring competitive foundation.

2005 — Specialisation

Oil & gas instrumentation becomes the primary vertical

The company deepens its specialisation into oil and gas process instrumentation, control valves, actuators, transmitters, and measurement systems. Technical-level procurement engagement — understanding pressure classes, standards (API, ANSI, DIN), and brand specifications — differentiates Global Trading from purely commercial intermediaries.

2010 — Minerals

Boron products and Eti Maden supply relationship established

Turkey's position as the holder of over 70% of the world's proven boron reserves creates a unique sourcing opportunity. Global Trading establishes its supply channel for Eti Maden-origin boron products — boric acid, borax pentahydrate, borax decahydrate, and specialty borates — and begins exporting to glass, ceramics, agriculture, and industrial chemicals manufacturers worldwide.

2015 — Expansion

Solar energy systems and NDT inspection equipment added

As renewable energy procurement accelerates across the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia, the company adds complete solar system components to its supply portfolio. Simultaneously, NDT inspection equipment is introduced — serving oil and gas, petrochemical, and manufacturing facilities that require weld integrity and structural inspection systems.

2019 — Security

Security and screening systems vertical launched

Global Trading begins supplying X-ray baggage and cargo scanning systems, vehicle scanning systems, walk-through metal detector gates, and handheld detectors to airports, seaports, border crossings, customs administrations, and government facilities — leveraging existing procurement relationships and logistics infrastructure.

2024 — Digital

Platform launch and digital transformation

Global Trading launches its enterprise-grade multilingual supply platform — globaltrding.com — built in-house on Laravel and supporting English, Turkish, Arabic, and French. The platform enables international buyers to browse product categories, access technical documentation, and submit RFQs directly, bringing institutional-grade digital procurement capability to a business built on 25 years of industrial trade.

"Istanbul is not just our address. It is our competitive advantage. From here, we can reach a refinery in Basra, a ceramic factory in Gujarat, and a border crossing in Kazakhstan faster and more cost-efficiently than any supplier based in Frankfurt or Rotterdam. That geography is the foundation every decision we make is built on."

How we work

Three principles that have not changed in 25 years

Why Istanbul changes the supply equation

Our location is not incidental. It is the strategy.

Global Trading in 2025

25 years of trade. One company. Seven product verticals.

Today, Global Trading Ltd. supplies industrial equipment, raw materials, and energy systems across seven product verticals to clients including operating companies, EPC contractors, ceramic and glass manufacturers, agricultural input distributors, government security agencies, and industrial procurement departments across more than 40 countries.

What has changed in 25 years is the breadth of what we supply and the tools with which we supply it. What has not changed is the underlying logic: Istanbul-based, specification-level, relationship-driven industrial supply that gives international buyers a faster, more direct, and more cost-efficient alternative to the layered distribution chains that remain the default in industrial trading.
